A charcoal drawing workshop employing figurative inquiry and play-based process to form figures using gestures with Jit Chowdhury.
Itself a corpus in protest, Sea of Fists by Prabhakar Pachpute is a solo immersive exhibition that examines and reimagines the postures, gestures, animations, and motions that form a social movement.
Inspired by the motion embedded in this installation, TRI collaborates with Jit Chowdhury of Studio Jitch to bring you a charcoal drawing workshop that employs gesture to shape form. Taking place within Sea of Fists, this workshop will guide participants through charcoal techniques for figure drawing before inviting them to draw inspiration from the movements and animations of the exhibition’s anamorphic figures to create their own unique forms. Participants are encouraged to go beyond the traditional representation of the human figure to create and orchestrate new characters within new worlds using charcoal as their expressive medium.
