As part of the inaugural edition of Monsoon Rooms, Soft Circulations presents the work of over twenty lens-based artists across twelve publications, showcasing their practices in book form. Together, these publications trace the connections we carry within the archives of our bodies — individual, social, and geographical — to explore how acts of seeing and perceiving transform into acts of becoming.

Inspired by the reflective quality of the monsoon season, the exhibition positions memory as both suspended and shifting; it is a state between the reality we inhabit and the reality we long for. Within the reading room, visitors interact with an atmosphere of slowness that mimics the cadence of monsoon days marked by introspection, surrender, play. Through its murmuration of images and publications, Soft Circulations presents longing and belonging as entangled human experiences.

This exhibition is not only an invitation to view images, but to dwell with them — to sink into the textures of memory, encounter the desires that shape identity, and reconnect with the body as a vessel of perception and transformation. By collapsing time between past and present, it gestures toward futures made possible through tenderness, reflection, and care.

Offset Projects is a publishing imprint, art-book library, and curatorial initiative founded by Anshika Varma to explore contemporary photography through experience-led formats with a focus on book-making. Its ethos foregrounds collaboration and relationship-building, treating the book as a site of companionship and support.

Alongside publishing, Offset Projects hosts artist talks, workshops, residencies, and decentralized curatorial interventions, such as reading rooms, to expand access to critical discourse and reflective inquiry in photography. The Offset Studio and Library, emerging as a travelling programme, creates spaces in community centres, parks, and residential neighbourhoods for collective engagement with lens-based practices.

Through these endeavours, Offset Projects positions photography beyond representation, opening possibilities for dialogue, critique, and shared imagination. With Soft Circulations, the initiative extends its work to Monsoon Rooms, creating a space of encounter where images, memory, and longing converge.
