Rooted in the spirit of the adda, an evening at TRI becomes something quietly special. In collaboration with Art Fervour as part of the Kolkata Art Weekender, Games in the Galleries brings the community together for a screen-free night of collective play, phones tucked away, boards laid out, and the galleries reimagined as a shared living room.

The evening opens with a walkthrough of ADDA: The Third Space, TRI’s winter season exhibition presented with St+art India Foundation, a space that already speaks the language of togetherness, porous futures, and the game of life played in communion. From there, the night finds its rhythm naturally. Guests settle into Doyel Joshi and Neil Ghose Balser of Howareyoufeeling.studio’s Shared Bed for rounds of UNO, gather around chess sets within Sethuraman and Beatnyk’s Room of Porous Futures, and build imaginary empires over Monopoly, perched atop life-size pop-ins inside Anikesa Dhing’s Archive of Taste.

Accompanied by snacks and coffee, conversations stretch and laughter carries through the galleries. What begins as an evening of play becomes something more, an act of connection, curiosity, and communion, true to the adda spirit that inspired it all.
