A conversation on the photobook as a personal archive and conduit for connection with Swastik Pal and Debsuddha, moderated by Rohan Chakravarty.
The photobook has long exceeded its role as a private or archival object. Today, it serves as a vital format for artistic experimentation — offering tactile and intimate experiences that invite multiple narratives to coexist across image, text, design, and storytelling.
As part of Soft Circulations, curated by Offset Projects, Expanding the Photo Album brings together artists Swastik Pal and Debsuddha in a conversation moderated by Rohan Chakravarty to reflect on the photobook as a personal archive and creative site.
This TRI Talk invites audiences to consider how the photobook, in its portability and durational quality, expands the function of the photo album beyond personal memory, becoming instead a space for collective reflection, dialogue, and renewal.
