Interwoven Legacies presents a screening of Epaar Opar, a documentary that examines khadi as both material and metaphor within the context of Bengal’s diverse textile ecologies. 

Commissioned by Weavers Studio Resource Centre and presented in the context of TRI’s spring season exhibition Khadi, a Canvas, the film traces the evolution of Bengal’s rich textile tradition, mapping its role in shaping global trade and cultural exchange across periods defined by colonialism, Partition, and industrial modernity. Through intimate conversations with artisans, designers, and cultural practitioners, the film draws attention to the shared histories of labour, resistance, and self-reliance across the Bengal Delta, inviting viewers to reckon with both the fragility and resilience of these traditions in the face of global industry. 

The 20-minute screening is followed by a conversation with the Weavers Studio Resource Centre, where audience members hear the story behind the film, the filmmaking process, and WSRC’s evolving archival practice and its place within contemporary craft discourse.
